Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
- 1/2 Cup Oats
- Water
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Nutmeg
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 Honey Crisp Apple
Chop 1 honey crisp apple (your choice if you want to keep the peel on). Add 2 tbsp of butter to a saucepan along with the chopped apple. Add 2 tbsp of brown sugar. Let simmer until the sugar is no longer gritty. While that is simmering, prepare your oats. I like to put 1 cup of water in a mug and heat it in the microwave and pour it over 1/2 cup of oats, your choice.
Add 1 tsp nutmeg and 2 tsp of cinnamon to the simmering apples just before removing. Make sure it is combined.
Once you remove the apples from the heat, add a very small dash of vanilla (optional).
Pour the apples over your oatmeal and enjoy!
